These apps streamline tasks in hazardous environments

This company purchased Ecom Instruments of Germany (in October 2016), a maker of cell phones, 4G smartphones and tablets, cameras, beacons and other devices that are designed and certified for use in hazardous areas. The Ecom App Library provides more than 200 useful apps tested by applications for use in hazardous areas using Ex-certified smartphones, tablets and peripherals that are certified for use in hazardous environments. These tools help engineers and technicians in hazardous-areas take advantage of a diverse array of mobile apps to streamline workflows, improve the way assets are operated and managed, and ensure safe operations for employees, says the company. — Pepperl+Fuchs, Twinsburg, Ohio
