Three-phase separation has now become a significant alternative in the food industry both for starch production for separating wheat starch and gluten or for extracting animal or vegetable fat and oil. In all these processes, two liquids have to be separated from a solid phase. Previous processes used a decanter or separator to separate the solid from the liquid phase, and then the liquid phase had to undergo another stage to separate the two liquids. That meant at least two machines were required. The RV8S solid-state interface relay boasts a compact 6-mm footprint, and features high switching cycles, extended operating life and high-speed load switching. In recent tests, the GL and QL interlocks withstood temperatures of up to 1,830°F (1,000°C). Performed by Score Group plc, the tests found the QL and GL to be compliant with the temperatures and conditions specified in API Standard 607 6^th Edition — 2010 and ISO 10497:2010. The tests verified that, in the event of a fire, the hardware will continue to function and the integrity of the locking mechanism will be maintained. During the test, the lock had one key inserted and one free; following cooldown, the lock remained secure on the valve. The new PSRmini safety modules (photo) are said to be the narrowest safety relays in the world, but deliver the performance of a larger safety relay. With an overall width of just 6 mm, they offer a high level of safety, thanks to the use of force-guided contacts. The helical form of the stem is available in two versions: manufactured in a single piece or with helices welded onto it. Installation and removal are just as easy as with a standard thermowell. ScrutonWell thermowells are recommended when a thermowell fails the strength calculation, according to ASME PTC 19.3 TW-2010, and where other optimizations (shorter or stronger stem or support collar) are not desirable.
