Speed solids discharge from bulk bags with this system

| By Scott Jenkins

The Single-Trip Unloader can cut the bottoms of single-use bulk-solids bags from seam to seam, promoting the complete discharge of the contents without the need for flow-promotion devices that might otherwise be needed to move material through narrow bag spouts. The Single-Trip Unloader relies on the user’s forklift or plant hoist to lower single-use bags onto a four-bladed, bag-piercing knife that opens the bag. After bags are lowered onto the knife, they are ready to discharge faster and with less labor than what is required to connect reusable bags to unloaders. The company says single-use bags can reduce the amount of material to be discarded or recycled. — Flexicon Corp., Bethlehem, Pa.
